Optiven Agency held a successful landlords’ meet-up on 15th October 2025. The event was held at the Global Arena of the Optiven offices located at Karen’s Zamani Business Park under the theme “Building Legacies Transforming Futures.” The session provided a platform for landlords to learn, share, and explore ways to make property ownership more rewarding and profitable.
The highlights of the event were insightful presentations from Optiven’s leadership team led by Dennis Chomba, the Optiven Agency Manager. According to Chomba, “the Agency eases the pain points landlords face, ranging from rent collection and managing utilities to fostering stronger tenant relationships. We are dedicated to providing reliable solutions that save landlords the stress of day-to-day property management.”
Addressing the attendees, Michelle Wachira, Optiven Agency Administrator, expanded further on the Agency’s role in offering selfless service. She emphasised the commitment to ensuring both landlords and tenants enjoy seamless customer relationships under Optiven’s management framework.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. George Wachiuri, CEO of Optiven Group. Dr. Wachiuri shared his personal experience in managing rental units, underscoring the challenges landlords often face with tenants. He stressed the importance of having formal tenancy agreements to safeguard both landlords and tenants saying, “having an agency helps you resolve conflict quickly because with a formal agreement, you can easily take action on difficult tenants. It also helps you fully comply with government housing regulations and meet your tax obligations, thus staying away from trouble.”
Dr. Wachiuri challenged landlords to maximise their rental yields and invest further in the real estate sector as a means of creating more employment opportunities. He noted that by expanding their investments, landlords play a vital role in empowering society and contributing to Kenya’s economic growth.
The event is expected to be held monthly to offer timely support, reports and advisories to landlords. Present at the event were Directors and Staff service with the Optiven Agency.
